The Last One

I don't know where the last two weeks went! Elizabeth's graduation was one of the best I've attended--even better than my own! I was impressed with the maturity of the class. One girl had even been married the week before, and her husband had left for Iraq. Elizabeth, hands down, gave the best speech (I would say this even if she wasn't my sister). When giving her plans for the future, she shared that while she might be pursuing interior design, her hope is to be a wife and mother and follow in her mother's footsteps. Our mom has undoubtedly been the biggest influence in our lives. Through me and my sisters, she will have a lasting impact for generations to come! So many people came up afterwards to thank Elizabeth for sharing something so countercultural.

Now the last one of us has graduated from high school. While it's kind of sad, we're all excited about what God has in plan for our future! Here is an assortment of pictures from the evening. Thanks everyone for coming and making her night special!

Katherine Dang, one of America's foremost historians, gave an awesome speech. I wish I had a tape of it!

The graduates walked out to one of the classmates playing the bagpipes.

It's hard work graduating!

Empire Mine Senior Portraits | Callie

Callie finished all her work back in December, but has now officially graduated from high school! She picked her session to be photographed at Empire Mine State Historic Park. It is an absolutely beautiful place and wonderful for weddings! Good choice, Callie!

Graduation

Speaking of the years passing so quickly, my little sister is graduating from high school tonight! She is a beautiful musician and will be playing "My Tribute" on the violin at the ceremony. If you think about it, would you please pray a little prayer for her? She slightly sprained her finger playing basketball last Saturday, and it's still a little weak. Besides that, the evening should go beautifully! A lot of friends are driving up, and I get to play the dutiful big sister and take lots of pictures. :-) Elizabeth, I'm so proud of you!

Pomp & Circumstance

There's a reason why Simpson University has it's graduation in April. If it was any later, it would be too hot to have it outside! At least that's my theory. So it was a perfect April day when my dear friend Sheri walked down the aisle. It was great being there and celebrating with her, but it was also surreal because those four years were gone like that. Sheri, here's to four more years of memories that will be duly recorded in our scrapbooks.

Elizabeth Part 1

What do you do when you're graduating and your sister is a photographer? Have as many portrait sessions as you'd like (until your sister goes crazy)! This is the first of at least two seniors session with my little (translation: younger) sister. She needed wallets for her invitations and didn't have time for an all out session, so we ran down to my favorite place one night and did a quick shoot.

Homegrown Goodness

There's nothing better than ripened on the vine tomatoes, fresh corn on the cob, and just picked strawberries. I don't posses the gardening bug, but thankfully my mom and my sister do! I came downstairs this morning to see this on the counter.

Some new health thing? Nope, they're seeds that are now planted in the garden to hopefully grow some yummy sugar snap peas. Can't wait to start eating some of that homegrown garden goodness!
