Just Around the Corner

Turn the corner, look down, and you'll find a pleasant surprise. Somehow a petunia planted itself in between the stones of the walkway. A bright bloom of magenta amidst the gray. Keep your eyes open for the little things that make the day special!

Prizes & a Pink Tutu

I love winning prizes! Who doesn't? So when I found out I had won a cute little pink tutu from Love, September, it made my day! Last Friday while editing her pictures I realized how much Shaylin had grown and that it wouldn't be long before she was too big to wear the tutu. So instead of waiting months to see more of this cutie, you only had to wait a few days! Isn't she adorable?

Shaylin - 10 Months

This little girl is growing up so fast. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I took her mommy's maternity portraits or her 4 1/2 month old portraits. But that's a good thing now that she has a new baby brother or sister coming along in the spring! Until then, the sporadicly spaced pictures will continue to be taken to chronicle her journey in babyhood.

It's All in the Details

Brides spend months planning and preparing the details of their wedding. From the color of the flowers to the place settings, everything has been chosen specifically to make their day special and reflect their personality. This is why the details pictures are some of my favorites. You can tell a lot about a bride by viewing their reception decorations. If you're a bride needing inspiration, check out photography sites and look for their blogs.

Sunday Afternoon

Can you tell these munchkins are related? Little Lu wanted to take pictures yesterday afternoon, so we took a few minutes, and I snapped a few here and there. The boys saw us and just had to join in. Peer pressure, I tell you, starts young! Happy Monday!

Double the Power

Out with the old...

And in with double the RAM! If you've ever worked on a slow computer, you can understand my joy in getting more RAM added to my computer. It makes such a difference! It's not the fastest computer around, but working in Photoshop is so much easier now. Add in my new collage templates, and you might start seeing some neat stuff around here!

4th of July Weekend

What is more American than apple pie--especially on the 4th of July? Since consumer fireworks were banned this year (too many fires!), I had to get creative in expressing my patriotism. The pie was also a late birthday gift for my mom as our oven was broken back then, and I hadn't gotten around to making one until now.

Notice how quickly it started to disappear!

Yes, there was a light pole in the middle of our view of the fireworks.

Saturday my mom baked a late blueberry birthday pie for Elizabeth. You notice a trend in our family? I'm not a big blueberry fan, but this one was yummy!

All in all it was a great weekend. God granted us a day of relief and there was no smoke smell on the 4th of July! It's back now, but I haven't given up hope of rain. Please keep praying about our fires!

Starry Nights

With all the smoke from the fires (1400 in northern California!) swirling around us, it's wonderful to finally see blue skies and starry nights again this week. They're something you take for granted until they're taken away. So for Molly, I'm finally posting two night pictures I took at camp. When the 1 hr. 20 min. one didn't turn out, God was gracious enough to give me some cool clouds. The second picture even captured some short star trails! His creation is even beautiful at night!
