End of the Year Special
New Year's Eve
Does the fact that time flies ever cease to amaze? Even finals weeks comes and goes at the speed of light. With the new year comes new pictures, so I'm finishing up with pictures from the season.
These first five pictures are from a walk in Nevada City with my friend, Angela.

Happy New Year!
Aunt Nini & Uncle Gary
Sometimes God brings people into your life that you know will be forever friends. Well, after 24 years of friendship, it appears that these friends define that category. Thanksgiving, airport rides, computer help, firewood, plays, all describe our friendship. From the mundane to the special, they are there to experience it with us. These two have truly become a part of our family. No one else has watched our home videos, attended all our high school graduations, and never forgotten a birthday. No one else remembers to bring my mom's favorite coleslaw or comes over unannounced to plant flower bulbs for us. And not many other people are lucky enough to have such godly and caring friends in their lives. We love you, Aunt Nini and Uncle Gary!

Kaiden & Ryan | Just Because
This family session was snuck in right before Christmas. It was great to be able to hang out with an old friend, Hannah, and her family. This was the first time I got to see Ryan outside his mommy's tummy! And no, Hannah is not biased, these boys are very cute!

Christmas Adam
Traditions are lovely things you do from year to year not because you have to, but because you want to. I think we started a new tradition today when Sheri and her mom came over and taught me, my sisters, and mom how to make tamales. After this I can never go back to enjoying store bought ones! They're even better because of the time spent with friends while making them! Because we were making so many, we had to get creative with our steamers. I think we ended up with four huge pots with yummy goodness! After all our work we figured we could part with a dozen for a mere $40. Family would only have to pay $35. Interested? ;-)

Pretty cool Christmas present, huh? Thanks Sheri!

Christmas Time Is Here!
Relief. The feeling of stress just melting off your shoulders like the snow that was dripping off my trees. It's that time of year every college student looks forward to--Christmas break! Ever since I submitted my last school assignment, the days have been a blur. Putting away textbooks, organizing my desk, spending the day with friends, eating yummy cookies, watching a movie with the family, reading books for fun, and counting the inches as the snow falls have filled my days. It will all be over before I know it, but right now I'm enjoying the time off to recuperate. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
Yay for friends like Jennica who are home for the holidays!

Sheri & Nick | Engagement
I think I have a new favorite session--engagements! I've been looking forward to this session ever since Sheri and I sat down and brainstormed ideas for it. We wanted to incorporate things that she and Nick liked to do together to try to capture their relationship. From ice cream cones to twirling hair to reading books, we spent part of the afternoon at the park laughing, talking, and taking pictures. It was only last April that we did Sheri's college graduation session, and now I can't wait for their wedding in June!

This is the "Thinking about Nick" pose.

Friends Take 3
Where would we be without tradition? Photoless is my guess. Our 4th semi-annual photo shoot with Jennica occurred over Thanksgiving weekend. What's cool is that this time we had Jennica's boyfriend, Amos, to take the pictures. It was like a portable tripod, just way cooler! ;-) It was a nice time meeting the guy who saved the header you see above with his savvy tech skills as well as catching up with a good friend. Only 12 more days until she is home again!

Friends Take 1, Friends Take 2
