Exactly one week ago I stood in the middle of a field gazing up at the stars. My pant legs were drenched with dew, and I was freezing, but I couldn't help but look up in awe at God's creation. It was the last night at camp, and I was on my annual star picture outing. While I still haven't gotten exactly the star picture I want, each year I'm reminded of what a mighty God I serve. He is deserving and worthy of my complete trust in Him for everything!

Sheri & Nick | Rumsey, Ca Wedding
Sheri flew through the air, diving to catch the frisbee. But she did more than catch the flying saucer, that move caught the eye of another player--Nick. By the end of the first date, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Now two years later, everyone agrees that Sheri and Nick are perfect for each other. The day was nothing less than a celebration of thankfulness to God for bringing them together. Sheri, thank you for your friendship! I love you so much and was excited to be a part of your day! Nick, welcome to the family!
I love how all the colors were captured beautifully in Sheri's bouquet by Becca Howden.

Makeup was done by her sister, the ever fabulous Jessica Palmer!

The cake, made by Emily Gillette, tasted as good as it looked!

I was so excited when Sheri and Nick ordered a guestbook! All their engagement pictures are surrounded by notes from their friends and family in a beautiful coffee table book!

Liz did an awesome job capturing this shot!

Sheri: Bridals
Sheri and Nick are off on their honeymoon, so it's now safe to post her bridals! We didn't have much time, but the picture of her laughing alone made the shoot a success!

I love the Vogue feel of this picture!

A Novel of a Blog Post
I have a confession to make. A couple of years ago, I can't remember the exact date, I came across a photographer's blog and fell in love with her work. The only problem, or so I thought, was that she'd write an entire book at the beginning of each post. Each time she posted, I'd skip all the writing by scrolling down and getting to the good part. Thankfully, it wasn't too long before I took the time to actually read one of the mini books. Wow, had I been missing out! Not only is Jasmine Star an amazing photographer, but she is also a phenomenal writer as well! Since that day I've read and looked at every single post she's written, attended the San Francisco Free to Succeed tour where she spoke, and now, attended her second ever workshop!
To understand my excitement, you've gotta understand that her workshop seats go faster than Usain Bolt running the 100 meter dash. So when I know she'd be announcing her latest one soon, I got ready. Every morning I'd wake up and check my email right away. I signed my sisters up for the updates so that if I missed the email, they'd get it and tell me. Of course it would be the once morning I was away from home (at the dentist no less!) that it was announced. As soon as I saw it, I grabbed my credit card and signed up...only to receive another email saying it was sold out. Can you say slightly depressed? Until, that is, I got an email from Jasmine saying I'd make the cut!
And boy was it worth it! In short, I've been able to think through and put together some of the modular microsystems (catch that all you FTP people?) for my business, meet some awesome photographers, hang out with the ever fabulous Jasmine and JD, and commit to doing even more to provide the experience that I want every Lydia Photography client to receive. I could go on and on, but I know some of you out there might not appreciate having to read a book before getting to the good part. ;-) On to the pictures!
I love how unique this bouquet is! Kristin, from The Treasured Petal, did an awesome job!
Tiffany and Mark are such a gorgeous couple and made it so easy to take great pictures of them!
Jasmine talked about taking signature shots that express our brand and style. When I saw this one, I totally fell in love with it. Their joy and love is so evident for all to see!
Julie, from Elysium Productions, was there recording the day. I can't wait to see what they do with the footage!
All this wouldn't have been possible without the help of Vivian Tran of All Made Up. Simply beautiful!
And our wonderful hosts, Jasmine and JD! I got your back, girl!
The lucky, awesome group itself!
