Emily | Just Because

A singer and actress (who can even cry on command...if you give her a bottle of eye drops!) is the talented Emily. But that's not all, she's a caring, supportive Air Force wife who can go from silly to serious in the blink of an eye. Makeup again by the great Jessica Palmer!

You know you have a great makeup artist when she shows you a look with an orange lip, and you have no worries because you know it'll turn out awesome!

Michelle | Just Because

She was our constant texter, and the one who made us laugh all day. Michelle would definitely be the life of any party as she's just so much fun to be around. I can't say much for her fanning skills, but she can spot a dead lizard from 10 feet away. Go Asians!

Jessica Palmer again did a beautiful job with the makeup and styling!

Ashley | Just Because

We'd been talking about doing it for awhile, but last week Jessica Palmer and I braved the 100+ degree weather and made it reality. Jess is an amazing makeup artist working on creating a portfolio to show off her skills. With four of her gorgeous friends and the loan of Sheri's house (thanks girl!), we set up base camp for what would be an all day photo shoot.

When Jess described Ashley to me, I knew we were going to get some awesome images. She has a style that can pull off so many looks and the closet to do it! If she weren't so committed to pre-med, Ashley could definitely become the next [insert name of famous artist]!

Website 1.0

It's those vague hints of something cooler to come that sometimes bug me. It causes me to be discontent with the here and now and just eager and impatient to see the future cool. That's why I've tried to hold myself back from sharing the awesome things coming to Lydia Photography. "Tried" being the key word.

You may have notice my blog being down last month. A new site was supposed to have taken its web address, but it never showed up due to user error. I've been working on a real website for awhile now. It has gone through many redesigns, and I know will never be totally done. Life changes, and my site will change to reflect that over the years. So instead of waiting for something that will never come, I did it. The official Lydia Photography website 1.0 is now online! So much more is being added to it, but I couldn't keep the hints back any longer and just had to share it!

You can still see my latest weddings and happenings on the blog at its own special link. Be sure to change your RSS feed to keep updated!

If you're interested in creating a website for yourself, be sure to check out Showit. As of this week, they now giving it away for free! You can:
  • publish up to five pages
  • use their templates and graphics or completely make something new
  • easily upload 10MB of music, pictures, slideshows, and more
  • share your site on blogs, facebook, twitter, and iPhones

Friends Take 4

The sun beat down on us, but we refused to give up. It was our traditional "Shoot Pictures With Jennica" day, and we were determined to get those pictures or at least have a heat stoke trying!

More pictures coming soon!

Melody Joy Floral Design

Surrounded by bridal magazines, the young girls poured over gown styles, bouquets, and tiered cakes. They were planning each and every detail of their someday wedding. As I stood there looking at them, I had no interest in what they were doing. I was weird like that eight years ago. But ever since I joined the wedding industry, I've scoured websites and magazines just drinking in the details. I love talking to my brides about their color choices and table decor. So by the time I get to their wedding, I'm so excited to see how everything turned out. Details are one of my most favorite things to photograph at weddings!

Last fall when Melody began describing her wedding to me, I knew it was going to be good. Not only does she have great taste, she's also an incredible floral designer. To this day I've never had more people tell me how much they loved her bridal bouquet! If you're getting married in the Napa area, be sure to check her out!

Here's one from her site of a beautiful summer bouquet--love it!
