There’s nothing as sweet a love that has been tested by “for better or for worse” and stood true, so it was a joy to be able to help capture Bob and Carol Hamilton’s anniversary celebration at the new Foothills Event Center! Friends from all over gathered to attend this grande affair and be entertained by the surprises the couple had planned throughout the night!
So much work has gone into transforming the Foothills Event Center into a sought after location, but Donna of Joy of Life Events took it to the next level!
Foothill Flowers created these beautiful orchid centerpieces that were so unique as well as all the other floral arrangements that decorated every space!
Even the chairs had to be just right and thus brought in from San Francisco!

There are so many story pieces throughout the event center. This bar is actually an old library desk gifted from the county!
The dreamer and doer, Mardie Caldwell not only owns Foothills Event Center but also leads Lifetime Adoption, which has a special place in my heart!

It was so fun to see Bob and Carol interact with each other–such a sweet and fun couple! In between courses of their 5 course meal, friends from InSierra Concert and Music in the Mountains would stand up and sing. Ken Hardin even put together a rendition of Happy Birthday on the piano to celebrate Bob’s 87th birthday!
As part of the experience, guests were served “service in concert” style where the servers would bring the plates to a table, stand behind each chair, then lay them down as the exact same time–just a special little touch!
First course | pistachio crusted goat cheese with fall greens, apple, honey and mustard vinaigrette, roasted beets, golden raisins, pear, toasted almonds, and fresh rolls
Antonio Ayesteran‘s food not only tastes delicious, but it’s also beautiful!
Second course | alaskan halibut topped with garden tomatoes and herbed phyllo dough with sweet potato and pear pave, and avocado burre blanc sauce
Intermezzo | cantaloupe sorbet with proscuitto and balsamic vinegar
Entree | colorado venison with fig port reduction or veggie wellington with chanterelle mushroom and pine nut risotto and roasted baby vegetables
Dessert trio | chocolate raspberry pate with berries, forzen port zabaglione in an almond caramel glass cup, mascapone tres leches cake
