Welcome to the

Sheri has been one of my dearest friends since high school and one of the biggest supporters of my photography business. So when she asked me to continue the tradition of documenting her growing family, I cleared my calendar to be there within days of Reed’s arrival!

He’s just the sweetest little guy and much adored by his parents and big brother!

Your story didn’t begin on Friday, October 4, 2013. It all started years ago with a family who wanted another child to call their own. When people heard this, some thought they were a little crazy. Weren’t four children enough? And where would they get this child? But this family knew and trusted that God would provide.

As the years went by clothes and baby items were gifted and tests were passed, but still no child. An adoption center was found, paperwork was filled out, and profiles posted, but still no child. A new house was found, and improvements were being planned when finally a call was received that a baby was on its way! With no time to spare, a house was renovated and moved in to, but when the time came, it was made clear that this baby was not to be their child. Tears were shed and prayers were made and still no child was to be had.

Baby girl, you will hear over the years the ups and downs your family went through to find you. So when they received a call that you were born, tiny and just the size of a coconut, know that you were the answer to all their prayers.

And never doubt this, baby girl: you are loved and wanted

Before the beginning of the world, you were chosen to live out this picture of agape love to all those around you.

While your birth mother was the one who chose this family to become your own, God in heaven was the ultimate writer of your story.

And my prayer for you is that before too long, you will also be adopted into His forever family with God not only as your Savior, but also your heavenly Father!

It’s just such a joy to see my brides and grooms long after their wedding day when they have settled into their new life. While some say familiarity breeds contempt, time and time again I see that the day to day life and working alongside each other instead deepens their affection. They are even more deeply in love than they were on their wedding day!

So it’s even more special to be able to capture that love deepen even more with a new baby!

My family and I are really close. So while I may not know all my sisters’ friends, and they may not know all mine, we probably “know” them by name, where they live, etc. So when my sister brought Natalie home from their big music teachers’ convention, I’d heard enough to know that she was an amazing piano teacher and author from Kansas.

As I got to know her over the next few days, I came to realize she is also an amazing person with a heart for serving God by serving others! I will treasure the talks we all had together about being creatives, running a business, and how to do it all to the glory of God. Natalie and Julia have some exciting plans they’re putting together that I’ll be sure to update you all on when it’s time, but let’s just say that if there’s a trip to Kansas in the future, I might just tag along!

It’s probably a given that if you’re coming to my house for a visit, a photo shoot is going to take place!

Love her smile and laugh!

Not quite like the fields in Kansas, but the view wasn’t too bad!

After talking to Natalie, I’m inspired to journal and blog more often. Here are some tips on journaling my friend Sarah just shared!

Tea, black that is, is the beverage of choice!

Not only is Natalie a great teacher, but she’s also an amazing writer and speaker. Be sure to check out her books Pajama School and Born to Deliver!

There’s nothing better than friendship that goes beyond the wedding day! So when I drove down to Santa Rosa to shoot an engagement session, it was the perfect time to catch up with my dear friend and past bride, Angela! And what a sweet time as she and Crandon are expecting a little boy! We met at the Luther Burbank Gardens and were able to just catch up and take a few pictures to capture this special, new life growing!

The gardens were pretty even in the middle of winter, but my favorite part was this large cactus that made the neatest backdrop!
