The history geek in me has a tradition of visiting the state capitol and taking a tour whenever I travel to a new state. So imagining a California State Capitol wedding was a dream which Pineapple Petals Studio brought to life, just in time to capture the blooms of the gorgeous Magnolia tree!
The texture of the cake by La Vie Douce Design and pastel shades of these macarons compliment the cherry tree blooms!
Sometimes as a creative you just have to be creative for creativity’s sake! I love using the winter and early spring months to set up a lifestyle shoot to keep those juices flowing and not become stagnant. Sometimes it’s putting together something to expand my portfolio and other times developing new skills! So when Jess from Polish & Pout told me that one of our favorite Roseville locations was filled with a field of beautiful wildflowers, I grabbed my first available date to make something happen
Our model, Alex, was amazing and did her own styling from her Lavender & Lace Vintage shop! She and her sister search for vintage clothing that they can update to create new modern pieces!
You can’t even tell that she’s standing in the rain!
As always, Polish & Pout never lets me down! Jessica’s hair and makeup skills blow me away!
After getting completely soaked, we loaded up the car and started driving toward the sunshine. Right down the road, the clouds opened up to show off this rainbow!
I felt like I was at an Anthropologie lifestyle shoot! Just love everything about it!
This beauty was moving away so I had to grab her for one last coffee date and makeup + hair! A newlywed herself it was also the perfect opportunity for a quick bridal shoot. Winter is definitely on its way and she rocked this cold, glowing look!
We kept her skin really fresh and glowing with a pretty, natural smokey eye for contrast!
It was fun when she recognized one of my favorite brands, Glossier, in my kit so I used as many of their products as I could for her to try out!
Naturally curly hair into a french twist? Absolutely love!
Editing these beautiful styled elopement pictures had me dreaming about photographing an intimate European wedding and anniversary shoots next fall! Who wants to join? Let’s make this dream come true!
It’s not every day that you see a bride in a black dress but the simple elegance was stunning!
Couldn’t get enough of this foraged bouquet that Angela and I created!
It’s always a thrill to be featured, especially by amazing sites like Swooned and Aisle Society! But I’m even more excited to now be able to share all the prettiness with you!
Amy from Bee, Leaves N’ Love dreamed up this beautiful shoot to showcase some of her favorite flowers and designs. She started with a color palette of blush and cafe au lait (cream ;-) and watercolor and silk textures. From there she put together an amazing creative team to bring it all to life–my photographer’s dream come true! Just look at the pictures and see if you don’t feel transported to old world Italy!
You probably know what I’m going to say…boutonnieres have my heart! It’s really the style of the whole wedding wrapped up in a bit of silk and pearl pins!
The dress! Oh my, Adrianna Papell has the most gorgeous designs!
And I can’t apologize for showing off the shoes multiple times! I’m still in awe of how perfectly they fit with the feel of the day!
Complete with this beautiful Italian ring!
These bundt cakes were made by Felicia Yoder and the yummiest ever–gluten free!
While the invitation suite was beautiful, what I loved the most of the personalized paperie touches from the bride and groom signs to the Italian printed quotes!
Amy really outdid herself with this garden rose, dahlia, rosemary, eucalyptus, and protea bouquet!
Sometimes you try a new idea and fall in love with the outcome!
While our bride Jaimee was naturally beautiful, Angela Nunnink brought out even more with hair and makeup!
Amy just didn’t want normal pretty pictures; she wanted to run outside the box and create something totally new…
…focusing solely on the bride’s radiance, surrounded by nature’s beauty!
