The threat of crazy weather, the rental company canceling the beautiful farmhouse tables, the flower order not showing up until right before the ceremony…what took months to plan was all replanned again hours beforehand to pull off this rainy day garden wedding! But Kirstie and Matt + their team of family and friends did it so well that I bet no one even noticed! Even the rain held off until the guests were departing!

It may have been pouring rain on Sunday but the Grass Valley fairgrounds wedding fair was a success! I admit I have missed doing bridal shows the last few years, mainly because it’s so fun for me to interact with couples and hear their stories and all of the amazing creative friendors! But a pretty close tie is getting to redesign my booth and tangibly showcase the Lydia Photography style that usual just lives online!
So grateful for A Curated Story and Wild & Lovely Events loaning me all the pretty props! It was so much fun to “shop” their rentals and choose the perfect pieces! Though honestly it was pouring rain that day, and I ended up getting so wet! Worth it!
My sister of Elizabeth Mae Creative created updated collection handouts which I loved! Couldn’t decide which picture to use on the front so I used all three, including the one of Petit Trianon in Versailles!
It was such a fun event, and I can’t wait to shoot the lovely weddings of some of the couples I met! 2019, you’re off to a great start!
Rustic chic was perfectly done at The Highlands Estate wedding in the middle vineyard covered hills in Sonoma. From the white victorian farmhouse for getting ready to ending the night in the barn for dancing, and all the moss covered trees…simply lovely! Just what Jenessa and John ordered to celebrate their special day along with friends and family!

Sharing is sometimes hard to do. Just ask the mother-of-the-bride who told me that she had just finally gotten some of the pictures from her daughters’ weddings that had taken place over the last couple of years (I was not the photographer!). Whether the photographer takes a long time to edit the pictures and deliver them or it’s months of waiting for the cd to be passed around and then hoping it works, it’s a story I hear quite often. Which is why I jumped on board the digital delivery via online galleries wagon when the technology first came out! But I still believe that tangibles like albums preserve and tell the story of a wedding day in a way that goes beyond just a facebook album online. I’m all about things you can touch and feel and creating a memorable experience for my clients from beginning until end!
So I was a little excited when USB Memory Direct reached out to see if I wanted to test their hard drives. I’m all about presentation, branded paper, silk ribbon, and personalized gifts so I loved the idea! Now along with a gallery link my couples can receive a beautiful wooden hard drive with all their photographs that just so happens to match their Heirloom Box! ;-)
